Outdoor tiles are a beautiful addition to your outdoor space. If you're looking to add some extra personality to your garden, it's important that you choose the right outdoor tiles for the job.
In this blog, we'll go through some main points that you should consider when selecting your new outdoor tiles.
Design & Appearance
Arguably the most important factor! Every garden across the UK has its own aesthetic. Whether it be modern, traditional, boho or something completely different, it's important that your outdoor tiles fit in with the design and feel of your current outdoor space. If you're changing up the appearance of your garden completely, then the world is your oyster!
At PrimaPorcelain, we stock a huge variety of outdoor tiles to suit every design preference. You can shop our outdoor tiles based on their colour or by size, so there's always a range of choice. Some of the colours we currently offer include white, cream, grey, black, wood, rust and stone.
Grip Rating
Grip rating should always be considered when choosing your outdoor tiles. Our outdoor tiles are excellent at withstanding the UK's fickle weather, but it's important that your outdoor tiles have a high grip rating to avoid any slips and falls due to rain, ice and sleet.
All of our outdoor tiles have a 'grip factor rating' which ranges from R1 (low slip resistance) to R5 (high slip resistance). We even put a blog together to explain our outdoor tile slip ratings for your convenience!
If you're buying outdoor tiles from us, we always recommend that you select a product with a grip factor rating of 4 or higher.
Installation Method
It's all well and good selecting your outdoor porcelain tiles, but you also need to consider how you plan on installing them. At PrimaPorcelain, we have a variety of installation methods so you can select one that's best suited to your experience and needs.
1. Let us do the hard work
In addition to supplying outdoor tiles, we also have a number of company contacts across the UK that can offer a first-class patio installation service.
2. Do it yourself
If you consider yourself a bit of a DIY-er, we have a handy installation guide to answer all the questions and queries that you may have about installing your new outdoor tiles by yourself. Of course, if you have any additional questions, get in touch with our team and we'll be happy to help.
3. Use our Easy-Frame installation method
Our Easy-Frame outdoor tile installation method can be completed by 2 people, and you can install your tiles directly over existing areas without affecting any existing infrastructure such as drains and pipes. Take a look at this blog post explaining more about the benefits of our Easy-Frame installation method!
It's important to take your desired installation method into account to ensure you can logistically install your outdoor tiles. For instance, are you able to carry and manoeuvre 40 x 120cm porcelain tiles by yourself? Or will you require a smaller size of outdoor tile to carry out the installation method of your choosing?
Maintenance
There is very little maintenance required to upkeep the quality of our outdoor porcelain tiles. This is one of the main reasons why they're such a popular choice in comparison to natural stone paving!
Our outdoor tiles have a low porosity so they absorb very little water, making them highly resistant to the weather. Porcelain is extremely durable and slip-resistant, making it a great choice for the tiles of your outdoor space.
Additionally, our outdoor tiles are also stain-resistant, frost-proof and fade-resistant. What more could you ask for! To clean your outdoor tiles, all it takes is warm water and a mop.
