Open Plan Harmony

The versatility and easy-to-maintain nature of porcelain flooring also makes it ideal for open plan living, due to the fact that it can create a sense of unity without looking out of place or being impractical for any living situation. It looks just as attractive in a kitchen dining area as it does in a living space, lending a sense of luxury even in small areas.

 Attractive Utility

Porcelain flooring is ideal for kitchens due to it's stain and slip-resistant qualities, making it safe for the preparation of meals, no matter how messy things get! However, it doesn't have to take on the traditional image of stone flooring, and can be produced in a number of shades and finishes. Take the Driftwood tiles (pictured below) for example, which emulate the notches and patterns of actual wood, proving that you don't have to sacrifice style for functionality.

Thanks to the rise and rise of Scandinavian inspired decor in recent years, the monochrome trend has yet to decrease in popularity. Although black/dark grey flooring may seem quite daunting and severe at first, it really can provide a perfect platform to create your monochrome home, working from the ground up. When paired with the right decor, it can create an absolutely stunning contrast, creating a dynamic and modern design without making your house look dark and dreary.

To give you a few ideas of how to make dark flooring work for you, we've highlighted some inspiration below from our own range, and other homeware stores we love!

All White Everything

The obvious choice for brightening up a room with dark flooring is to fill it with bright walls and tons of white homeware pieces, in order to create a striking contrast. There's plenty of modern, white furniture on the market at the moment, in sleek shapes and unusual designs, so you should have no trouble finding the perfect pieces to fit your space.

To achieve a stunning contrast with a natural finish, opt for a black tiles such as those in our Stoneware Slate range.

Grey Tones

If you're worried that stark black and white could be too bold for you, that doesn't mean that you can't  find ways to tone down the look to make it work for you. By combining a black and white base with lots of grey tones in your furnishings and accessories, you can easily soften the look by bringing in more tones. This way you can stick to the colour palette without making it too restrictive or uniform (unless uniformity is what you're after).

Tiles Maintenance

Having put a lot of thought and effort into installing your new, tiled flooring, it's only natural that you will want the quality of the finish to last. Unfortunately, there are many issues which can affect your tiles both indoors about outdoors, such as mould, stains and discolouration. In an attempt to avoid these issues, most people invest in expensive sealants, calling for more expense and effort to be put into on your flooring.

At PrimaPorcelain, we strive to deliver quality products that make your home and garden transformations as simple and stress-free as possible, which is why all of the tiles we stock are largely maintenance free. This eliminates the need to use sealants and expensive cleaning products, making the upkeep of your porcelain tiles as simple as possible.

Here's why our tiles don't require sealing and extensive cleaning:
  • 0.5% Porosity -  A low porosity level means that your tiles won't absorb dirt and water, making them stain resistant and frostproof!
  • Fade Resistant  - Our tiles are made in such a way that the raw materials cannot be separated, which means that the pigment is preserved inside of the porcelain. This makes it resistant to UV fading and other normal weathering.
